Wabash College has received a $150,600 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of a new program that distributes CARES Act funding to cultural nonprofits affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The grant will retain Classics, Ethnomusicology, and History visiting faculty in positions threatened by the pandemic.
Dr. Feller, who has served as Dean of the College at Wabash since 2014 and as Professor of Chemistry since 1998, was elected by unanimous vote during the Trustees’ meeting May 16. His tenure begins July 1.

On the recommendation of our on-campus teams, as well as conversations with other colleges and universities, we have decided that Wabash will start the fall semester two weeks earlier than scheduled. While some additional adjustments could be made, we plan to implement the following schedule for the fall semester: new students move into living units (scheduled and staggered) on August 7-8; the Ringing-In Ceremony for new students will be held August 9 (live-streamed for family members); upperclassmen move into living units (scheduled and staggered) on August 10-11; classes begin August 12; classes end November 17; and final exams will be held November 18-24. Mason “Champ” McCorkle is the first recipient of a new scholarship. The Wabash Leaders Scholarship and Program provides leadership-related programming for students with a strong probability of becoming a leader with a substantial impact on their communities.

A national champion runner, All-American football and basketball players, and Gagliardi Award finalist are among eight individuals who will be inducted in the Wabash College Athletics Hall of Fame during Homecoming weekend in September.
Kathy Callen and John Powell have done their best to continue a strong family tradition of philanthropic giving towards scholarship. The recently established Powell Family Scholarship is awarded to an upperclassman who has demonstrated financial need and academic promise.
Lamore Boudoin is from a tiny town 30 minutes outside of New Orleans. There are no traffic lights, no fast food restaurants, one gas station, and one Dollar General. Edgard, Louisiana, is 95 percent African-American, and he rarely interacted with people outside of his own race. Then he came to Crawfordsville.
Dave Boulware '96, a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine at the University of Minnesota, currently is researching drugs to aid in the treatment of COVID-19. Last week, he received Food & Drug Administration approval for further clinical trials.
Once Colorado native David Riggs ’20 got to Wabash and found his footing on the soccer field, he began to “hunt for experiences.” The financial economics major recently received an Orr Fellowship and says he’s “battle-tested, battle-ready to go out into the real world.”
Larry Landis recently helped start and support the President’s Distinguished Speaker Series (PDSS), which brings inspiring and influential individuals to campus. The Series began in 2017, and the gift allows the events to be free and open to the public in hopes of spurring conversations among the broader community.
